Photoshop vs. Illustrator

1/2.) In the media industry, the people who would use photoshop are brand designers and creative image makers. Because they can import other pictures into one and create a whole new image just by the click of a few buttons, they can also distort and customise images to make them different as well. Illustrator users are most likely to be advertisers or front page designers because they can make logos or writing to place on a picture.

3.) The format illustrator is used on is vectors and the format that photoshop is used on are pixels, pixels are tiny squares which add up together to create an image, Vectors are like a sheet of paper which has no pixels, Pixels are better for manipulating and animating because its easy to change the squares, Vectors are better to create clean and sharp images without tiny little squares which you can see by zooming in.

4.) On Photoshop I placed an image into another image to make it look like the two images were in the same photo, for example I went on google and took an image of a city, which I then placed onto photoshop, after, I put another image of something else (I put godzilla) and then I clouded the image and after I used the paint marker tool and went over it to make the outline and image.

On illustrator I made a Pepsi timeline using images from the web, what I did was I placed the images onto the program and then I used some of the tools to make it look like pepsi was spilling out of the can and creating the images for the timeline, I found this easy on illustrator because there was no pixels to fuzz out the image so I could distort it and curve it.

5.) I learnt that one Photoshop you could place images of other things and erase its background without ruining the image, and i learnt that on illustrator you could make the images more customisable and you could change the way it looked without it being too pixelated to seem more professional.

6.) I gained the ideas that you could make whole new things for different subjects like billboards, magazines, posters, websites. And that you could maybe even use it in films and movies to give them more detail and to be better, I also found out that these things can be used much more in everyday life.

7.) I enjoyed using the marker pen tool on photoshop because you could use it for many different things such as mask layers to manipulate two different photos into looking like one whole one and you could place different images into another without its background overriding the other.
And on illustrator I liked how you could place shapes down without them being laggy and pixelated.

8.) I found that making the backgrounds change and masking layers to be slightly more difficult because you have to be precise and sometimes it can become more difficult to not mix up the different tools and make your work completely wrong, and i found most of illustrator to be quite tricky when it comes to all the different icons and its hard to place and drag things.

B&A Grade

1.) The advantages of using Photoshop is that you can manipulate the image easy using the pixels and you can also use mask layers to place an image into another and delete the new images background with ease only using the mask layer tool and simple marker pen tool. The advantages of using illustrator is that you can use the same images and new ones without them being pixelated and clean without the use of HD images and you can import different things and manipulate it with out being pixelated. It works as a piece of paper does.

2.) The bad things about photoshop is that all of the images besides Gifs are still and that you cannot animate, also when you manipulate and place an image from another them into aa d=new one its not always clean when you outline them, the draw-backs for illustrator is that there is not many images and theres no pixels to customise the image close up.

3.) Next on photoshop I would like to learn how to place an image up and be able to change what it looks like and all of its features, and on illustrator I would like to learn how to use at least most of the tools and use them with skill.

4.) I think that I would like to learn how to use all of the tools for photoshop and illustrator and be able to Professionally do it without getting stuck or puzzled.
